We get it. Terms and Conditions are not the sexiest part of joining a social club. But because we run a wonderfully weird, wildly varied mix of events, across public spaces, private venues, fitness activities, outdoor adventures and everything in between, we actually have some pretty serious legal requirements to cover.

This section is the grown up part. It keeps our community safe, keeps our events running smoothly and makes sure everything is fair for everyone who shows up. It also protects the magic of what we do. Without a clear structure, the fun stuff simply could not exist.

So grab a sip of water, read with intention and give this a proper read.
We promise the events themselves are far more exciting than the paragraphs below.
But this part is important, and we appreciate you taking a moment with it.

TERMS OF SERVICE

LESGO and Gay Social Clubs (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth)

By becoming a member of LESGO or any Gay Social Club chapter (Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth or future regions) and by attending any event, activity or meet up organised under the LESGO brand (including the social club sub brands), you agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms apply to all members, all events and all use of our website and membership platform.

1. Membership and Eligibility

1.1 You must have an active paid membership to attend members only events.
1.2 Memberships are billed through Stripe via MemberPress and renew automatically unless cancelled by you.
1.3 You are responsible for maintaining up to date payment information to avoid access interruptions.
1.4 Memberships are non refundable including for change of mind, scheduling conflicts, moving cities or any other personal circumstance – you can however cancel your membership at anytime, to which no further payments or charges will be made.

2. Event RSVP Policy

2.1 Many events have limited capacity and rely on accurate RSVP numbers.
2.2 If you RSVP to an event, you are committing to attend unless you cancel within the required time frame (more than 24-hours).
2.3 You must update or cancel your own RSVP through the website. LESGO staff and hosts cannot update RSVPs on your behalf.

3. No Show Fee

3.1 A ten dollar no show fee applies to any member who fails to attend an event they RSVP’d to.
3.2 This fee is automatically charged to the payment method attached to your membership.
3.3 To avoid the fee, you must cancel your RSVP more than 24 hours before the event start time.
3.4 If you cancel inside the 24 hour window, or fail to show up without cancelling, you will be charged a no show fee automatically.
3.5 The 24 hour cut off allows spots to be released to waitlisted members and prevents empty spaces at capped events.
3.6 By holding a membership, you consent to all no show charges.

4. Conduct and Community Expectations

4.1 You must treat all members, hosts, staff and venues with respect.
4.2 Harassment, discrimination, unsafe behaviour or aggressive conduct may result in suspension or cancellation of your membership.
4.3 You must follow all instructions from LESGO hosts and partner venue staff.

5. Assumption of Risk and Liability Release

By attending any LESGO event or activity, you acknowledge and accept the following:

5.1 You participate voluntarily and entirely at your own risk. This includes but is not limited to attending dinners, drinks, running clubs, outdoor activities, indoor activities, sporting events, fitness sessions, walking tours, climbing, hikes, meetups, camping trips and any event hosted under the LESGO brand.

5.2 You understand that physical activity, fitness events, social venues, alcohol, weather, traffic, busy areas, outdoor terrain and venue environments involve inherent risks. These risks may include slips, falls, collisions, equipment failure, wildlife, dehydration, illness, injury or death.

5.3 To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless LESGO, its owners, directors, staff, contractors, volunteers, hosts and partner venues from any and all liability for personal injury, property damage, illness, loss, harm or death arising from or connected to your participation in any event.

5.4 You acknowledge that LESGO is not responsible for the actions or behaviour of other attendees or members of the public.

5.5 You agree that you are medically and physically able to participate in any event you choose to attend and, if unsure, you will seek medical advice before attending.

5.6 If consuming alcohol, you accept full responsibility for your safety, decisions and behaviour.

6. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and reimburse LESGO for any claims, damages, legal fees, costs or losses arising from your breach of these Terms, your conduct at an event, damage you cause to a venue or injury you cause to another person. This includes claims brought by other members, venues, third parties, insurers or authorities.

7. Photography, Filming and Social Media

7.1 LESGO events may involve photography or filming.
7.2 By attending, you consent to appearing in photos or videos used for marketing, social content or promotional materials.
7.3 If you prefer not to appear in photos, you must inform a host at the start of the event and avoid camera zones.

8. Event Changes, Cancellations and Weather

8.1 LESGO may modify, postpone or cancel events at any time for safety, weather or operational reasons.
8.2 Refunds are not offered for free events or membership dues due to scheduling or structural changes.
8.3 Paid ticketed events, such as camping trips or venue hire events, have a total no-refund policy, for any reason.

9. Website, Payments and Data

9.1 All payments are processed securely via Stripe.
9.2 You consent to LESGO storing necessary account and membership information.
9.3 You must not share login details or allow non members to attend members only events using your membership.

10. Termination

10.1 LESGO may suspend or cancel your membership immediately if you breach these Terms, behave in a way that endangers others, misuse the membership system or repeatedly no show events.
10.2 Termination does not result in refunds.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by Australian courts.

12. Sharing of Information

By becoming a member (past or present), you acknowledge and agree that LESGO may collect, use, store and disclose your personal information where reasonably necessary to operate the service.

This may include sharing relevant information with our staff, contractors, volunteers, event hosts, and trusted third-party service providers (such as payment processors, email platforms, ticketing systems and website providers) for purposes including membership management, event administration, communications, customer support, and platform operations.

We do not sell personal information and do not intentionally disclose member details to other members or unrelated third parties outside of these operational purposes.

13. Member and Host Conduct

LESGO events are social spaces intended to be welcoming, respectful, and inclusive. Members and hosts are expected to behave in a reasonable and respectful manner toward others at all times.

While LESGO may appoint hosts or moderators and may intervene where appropriate, you acknowledge that LESGO is not responsible for the actions, behaviour, or interactions of members, hosts, venue staff, or other attendees.

LESGO reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove any person from an event or cancel a membership where behaviour is deemed inappropriate, unsafe, or contrary to the spirit of the community, without refund.

14. Limitation of Liability

While we take reasonable steps to protect personal information, you acknowledge that no system or process is completely error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LESGO is not liable for any loss or damage arising from inadvertent or accidental disclosure of information where reasonable safeguards were in place.

15. Acceptance

By signing up, logging in, renewing your membership or attending any event, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms of Service.
