Participant Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk

This event is operated by MGSC (Melbourne Gay Social Club/LESGO). By attending this camping trip, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Voluntary Participation

I am attending this event voluntarily. All activities I take part in across the weekend are my own choice, and I am responsible for my own decisions, conduct and wellbeing.

2. Outdoor and Camping Risks

I understand that camping involves inherent risks including uneven or slippery terrain, wildlife, darkness, weather conditions, shared facilities, fire pits and environmental hazards. I accept responsibility for managing my own safety and surroundings.

3. Physical Activities

Optional activities (such as hikes, walks or movement sessions) may involve exertion, hills, stairs or natural obstacles. I am responsible for assessing my own capability and may opt out of any activity at any time.

4. Food and Dietary Requirements

Meals are prepared in a shared outdoor setting. While MGSC will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary needs, I understand that perfect separation or quantities cannot be guaranteed. I am responsible for managing my own dietary requirements.

5. Tent Sharing and Sleeping Arrangements

MGSC assists in allocating tents and tent shares based on the information I provide.
I acknowledge that:

• MGSC’s allocation is a logistical aid
  • I am choosing to accept my allocated tent share
  • I am responsible for communicating any personal boundaries before the trip
  • I participate in shared sleeping arrangements at my own risk

6. Carpooling and Travel

MGSC facilitates carpool connections to help members travel to and from the event.
I acknowledge that:

• All carpool arrangements are voluntary agreements between individuals
  • MGSC does not manage, supervise or control drivers or vehicles
  • I choose to participate in carpooling at my own discretion and risk.

7. Alcohol and Substances

If I choose to consume alcohol at any time during the weekend:

• I do so responsibly
  • I accept full responsibility for my behaviour and safety
  • I remain solely accountable for decisions made under the influence

MGSC does not supply, sell or serve alcohol, and has no responsibility for alcohol-related incidents or conduct.

8. Personal Property

I am fully responsible for my own belongings. MGSC is not liable for loss, theft or damage.

9. Release of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, I release MGSC, its owners, organisers, hosts and volunteers from any liability for injury, illness, loss or damage arising from or connected to my participation in this event, including risks associated with camping, shared sleeping arrangements, food, travel, weather or physical activities.
